Tier 2 · Transport & Networking · Lesson 3

Radio, or network?

A trouble ticket almost never says "the network is broken" — it says "my radio won't work." Your job is to use the OSI layers as a ladder: gather clues, rule layers out, and isolate where the fault actually lives. The trap is that a low-layer transport problem loves to disguise itself as a radio problem.

OSI ladder · pick the layer

Work bottom-up: physical first. A fault at a low layer can produce symptoms that look like a problem high up.
